Strengthen the BHP this Season with A Year-End-Gift

As we prepare to bring 2022 to a close, we know year-end giving is on the minds of many — we are incredibly grateful for the gifts the BHP has already received to support our artistic mission. To support what you may still be considering, we share the following giving tips:

Online gifts via credit card are the most convenient way to support the BHP in the final weeks of December, as you will receive a timely receipt via email.

Checks will be processed and receipted based on the envelope postmark date. If the check does not arrive in a postmarked envelope, it will be processed on the date it is received. Checks may be sent to: BHP, PO Box 2513, Rapid City, SD  57709.

 

By phone Call us at 605 255-4910, ext 1 and we can take your credit card information for a donation over the phone or help you with any questions you might have.
 

Donations of Stock: We work with the USD Foundation to receive donations of stock. Stock transactions will continue to be processed and receipted according to the date the shares are transferred into the USD Foundation. Stock will need to be transferred into the USD Foundation account before 3 p.m. on December 30 to be designated for 2022. Please see stock transfer instructions HERE.
 

Qualified Charitable Distributions: Donors may wish to use IRA funds to make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). The QCD is available up to $100,000 for individuals who are over age 70½.

Required Minimum Distributions: Give your RMD to charity by 12/31 and avoid stiff tax penalties. Current tax law allows you to contribute up to $100,000 to charity from an IRA and exclude that donation from your income. When you turn 72, you must start taking RMDs every year. Required minimum distributions (RMDs) from employer-based retirement plans and traditional individual retirement accounts (IRAs) will be due Dec. 31 for most people 72 and older.
